v1.0.1 - Spring bugfix and more particles
Time for a small bugfix and for a quality of life improvement.
Depending on how you hit/jump on the spring, it's possible for the board/platform to slide off into the distance. This used to be really common, but after adding a bunch of colliders I was able to mostly solved that... until the game was released and more people played it, that is. So, I added a fail safe that resets the platform back to its initial position. Now, even if it were to slide off, it should quite quickly get back to the correct position.
Additionally, I added some celebratory particles when you pass the goal. During development, I considered adding a small animation with the ball going into the goal or something when you reached the goal. However, there's a charm in being able to hurl yourself over the goal and see the ball going into free-fall after passing the goal, so I quickly decided against that. Not doing that animation also meant less work, which is always a good thing. But after someone mentioned that it would be nice if the level complete text appeared faster, as to give a better feedback that they did indeed complete the stage, I decided on those particles as good enough compromise. It's also always fun to add more particles. ;)
Changelog
- Fix the spring's platform potentially sliding away
- Add a particle explosion when the Goal is reached
